Lucid Bots Introduces Ground-Powered Continuous Flight System for Drones

Technology firm Lucid Bots has unveiled the Power Tether, a system designed to allow its cleaning drones to operate continuously by drawing power from a ground-based connection. The company states this is the first such system in the cleaning drone industry.
The Power Tether removes the operational limitation of battery life, as drones no longer need to land for recharging or battery replacement. Lucid Bots reported its fleet has accumulated over 8,760 flight hours, equivalent to one year of continuous operation.
This development is expected to enhance the efficiency of automated cleaning for large structures and infrastructure projects, where prolonged operational time is critical. The system allows for uninterrupted cleaning cycles, potentially reducing project timelines.
The introduction of the Power Tether aligns with Lucid Bots' strategy to advance automation in building maintenance and industrial cleaning sectors. The technology aims to increase operational uptime and reduce labor costs associated with traditional cleaning methods.
