Lufthansa Group and Amadeus Partner on Airline Technology

Lufthansa Group has selected Amadeus as a key technology provider in a partnership aimed at transforming airline retail and delivery services. Nine airlines within the group, including Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa, and Swiss, are set to implement Amadeus Nevio's modular solutions.

The technology is designed to offer more personalized services and improve operational efficiency throughout the entire travel journey. Amadeus Nevio provides a flexible core technology, allowing airlines to adapt at their own pace. The planned adoption of Nevio's Delivery Management is intended to redefine the passenger experience with data-driven systems.

A central aspect of this transformation is the shift towards the IATA's 'Orders' standard. Amadeus Order Management aims to consolidate all traveler purchases, including flights, ancillaries, and third-party services, into a single order record. This move is intended to replace traditional ticketing and Passenger Name Records (PNR) and modernize airline retailing.

The partnership also focuses on enhancing Lufthansa Group's ability to combine its own content and partner offerings into more personalized bundles that better meet traveler expectations. Tools like Amadeus Product Catalogue and Stock Keeper will aid in expanding offerings and providing accurate product availability information.

Tamur Goudarzi Pour, Executive Vice President, Strategy, Lufthansa Group, stated that the group is a pioneer in modern airline retailing and expressed excitement for the partnership with Amadeus to develop innovative order technology and improve the customer travel experience.
