H. Lundbeck A/S has announced key results from its Phase IV THRIVE trial, which evaluated eptinezumab (Vyepti) in adults with migraine who had an inadequate response to one prior calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP)-targeting preventive therapy.

The trial's primary endpoint analysis showed that 60% of participants reported being 'much improved' or 'very much improved' after 24 weeks of eptinezumab treatment. This marks the first interventional trial designed to assess eptinezumab's effectiveness in patients who previously failed a CGRP-targeting therapy.

Participants received eptinezumab at 100 mg, escalating to 300 mg at week 12. The treatment was generally well tolerated, with no new safety signals identified in this population. The study included 164 adults with at least eight monthly migraine days who had not responded adequately to a previous CGRP therapy.

These findings provide prospective clinical data to inform treatment sequencing for patients experiencing continued migraine burden. Lundbeck plans to present the full results at upcoming scientific congresses. Migraine is a complex and disabling neurological disease affecting millions worldwide, with a significant unmet need for effective treatments in patients with prior therapy failures.
