The LUNGevity Foundation has launched its Every Breath Forward initiative, a national campaign centered on increasing the visibility of lung cancer issues. As part of the program's debut, the foundation has installed 60,000 white flags on the National Mall in Washington to honor those lost to the disease and to drive advocacy for early detection policies.
The initiative focuses on three core pillars: expanding access to lifesaving screenings, increasing funding for clinical research, and ensuring equitable access to medical care across the United States. By highlighting the gap between existing diagnostic tools and patient uptake, the foundation aims to shift the narrative toward proactive health management.
Lung cancer remains a leading cause of cancer-related mortality. The foundation’s campaign seeks to leverage this month’s visibility to secure deeper commitments from public health stakeholders to improve survival rates through more efficient diagnostic pathways.
