Lutra unveils digital camera with see-through viewfinder
South Korean startup Lutra has introduced the HOA A1, a screen-free camera designed to allow photographers to maintain eye contact with subjects during framing.

South Korean startup Lutra has debuted its Humans of Authenticity (HOA) brand with the launch of the HOA A1, a digital camera that replaces traditional screens with an open viewfinder. The design is intended to move away from the habit of looking at a digital display while shooting.
By centering the lens and sensor within a large viewfinder window, the device allows the photographer to view their subject directly through the glass. This configuration aims to provide a more natural experience, mirroring the mechanical simplicity of older camera systems while maintaining digital functionality.
The initial rollout of the HOA A1 First Edition is scheduled for December 1. Lutra plans to release a limited production run consisting of 100 units. Pre-order details for the device remain forthcoming.
