LVMH Launches 'Métiers d'Excellence' Initiative in China
LVMH Group has officially launched its "Métiers d'Excellence" initiative in China, aiming to preserve and promote exceptional craftsmanship and retail expertise.

LVMH Group has officially launched its "Métiers d'Excellence" (Excellence in Craftsmanship) initiative in China. This expansion of the program, originally established in Paris in 2014, signifies the luxury conglomerate's commitment to preserving and developing artisanal skills and expertise in retail and client services globally.
The China launch was marked by the inaugural "SHOW ME -China" event in Shanghai, celebrating the region's skilled artisans and sales professionals. The event highlighted the importance of China to LVMH and explored the connections between French and Chinese savoir-faire. Attendees included Andrew Wu, LVMH Group President of Greater China, and Bertrand Lortholary, the French Ambassador to China.
The "Métiers d'Excellence" initiative in China will focus on four key areas: publicizing the group's professions, facilitating hands-on experience with heritage savoir-faire through masterclasses, training the next generation via tailored programs, and recognizing outstanding talent. The initiative already involves over 60 identified professions, encompassing nearly 300 artisans and 16,000 sales advisors in the country.
The program aims to ensure the continuity of the luxury group's high-quality products and services and foster intercultural understanding. Masterclasses have already been conducted by brands such as Louis Vuitton, Bvlgari, and Dior, with collaborations also extending to local vocational schools.
