Lyft CEO Highlights Differences With Uber

Lyft CEO David Risher is outlining the company's strategy to set itself apart from its competitor, Uber. "We're the good Uber," Risher stated when discussing the company's direction.

Risher, who was appointed CEO in March 2023, has implemented several changes. These include expanding international services, forming partnerships with Waymo and Nvidia, reducing ride cancellations, and increasing driver pay. The company reports it has also improved customer experience by lowering cancellations.

Most recently, Lyft announced an expansion of its partnership with Curb in New York City, which will bring taxis into the Lyft app. These efforts have contributed to the company reaching profitability. Lyft is now reporting a profit, but remains in second place in market share compared to Uber.

Despite the financial progress, Lyft's stock price has declined this year. Risher also expressed interest in future fleets of autonomous vehicles, noting the company's openness to managing fleets of autonomous cars owned by tech companies or private individuals.
