Lynk & Co 20 to feature integrated 16-in-1 electric drive unit
Lynk & Co announced its upcoming Lynk & Co 20 model will be equipped with an industry-first "16-in-1" rear-wheel-drive oil-cooled silicon carbide electric drive unit. The system boasts 245kW motor power and over 93% efficiency.

Chinese automaker Lynk & Co has announced that its new Lynk & Co 20 model will feature an integrated electric drive unit, described as an industry first. The "16-in-1" unit combines multiple components, including the electric motor, power electronics, gearbox, and various control systems, into a single assembly. The company stated this unit will deliver 245kW of motor power and achieve an overall efficiency exceeding 93%.
The technology behind this drive unit is derived from the "Thunder 16-in-1 Intelligent Electric Drive" system developed by Xingqu Technology, a subsidiary of Geely Holding, and previously revealed by Geely's Galaxy brand. This integrated approach aims to improve packaging, weight, and efficiency compared to traditional multi-component powertrains.
The Lynk & Co 20 is slated for a third-quarter launch this year. The vehicle will also feature an 800V high-voltage platform, support for 6C fast charging, and an upgraded LiDAR system for enhanced driver assistance and sensing capabilities. Other confirmed features include a globally unique dual rear spoiler design and a new active rear-axle system.
This move by Lynk & Co, a brand under the Geely Auto Group, aligns with the industry's trend towards higher integration and efficiency in electric vehicle powertrains. The company is positioning the Lynk & Co 20 with advanced technology to compete in the rapidly evolving EV market.
Further details regarding pricing and specific market availability are expected closer to the vehicle's launch.
