Ma, 51, has led the Beijing-based firm for 22 years and is recognized as one of China's most prominent architects globally.
Ma Yansong's work is characterized by its distinctive and bold designs, which have become landmarks in various cities. His previous projects include the Harbin Opera House, the Quzhou Sports Stadium, and a museum complex in Shenzhen. In recent years, MAD Architects has expanded its reach beyond China, completing projects such as the Fenix Museum in Rotterdam and an apartment building in Denver.
The Lucas Museum, spanning over 300,000 square feet, features an aerodynamic form clad in white polymer panels. The structure includes a solar array and a planted hill on its roof.
