MacGregor to Supply RoRo Equipment for TT-Line's New Hybrid Ferries
MacGregor has signed contracts to supply a comprehensive scope of RoRo equipment for TT-Line's two new battery-hybrid LNG ferries. The vessels are being built by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard.
Equipment manufacturer MacGregor has secured a significant order from China Merchants Jinling Shipyard. The contract involves supplying RoRo equipment for two of TT-Line's new Green Ship 2.0 series battery-hybrid LNG ferries.
The order includes multiple RoRo equipment items for each vessel, covering aspects such as car deck arrangements and cargo handling solutions. MacGregor's technology will support the operations of these ferries, which are designed to utilize liquefied natural gas (LNG) and battery power as their energy sources.
These new ferries represent TT-Line's commitment to more environmentally friendly shipping. The battery-hybrid system and the use of LNG fuel aim to reduce the vessels' carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency compared to conventional diesel-powered ships.
Deliveries are scheduled to align with the ship construction timeline, with completion expected in the coming years. Financial terms of the contract have not been disclosed. MacGregor has previously supplied similar equipment packages for various maritime projects.
