Macnica unveils SLVS-EC interface IP for Sony IMX742 endoscope integration
Macnica Americas has introduced new interface technology to support high-resolution video transmission over five-meter cables in single-use endoscope designs.

Macnica Americas has launched a new SLVS-EC interface IP designed to integrate with Sony’s IMX742 image sensor. The technology targets the medical device market, specifically addressing the technical challenges associated with maintaining high-resolution video signal integrity across longer cables in single-use endoscopic instruments.
For manufacturers, cable length and signal attenuation have historically complicated the development of high-definition single-use endoscopes. By utilizing this interface IP, developers can move data more effectively from the sensor to the processing unit, even when utilizing cables up to five meters in length. This development is expected to facilitate the adoption of higher-resolution sensors in disposable medical hardware.
The integration of the IMX742 sensor with Macnica’s interface provides a standardized path for engineers to design compact, high-performance visualization tools. This capability is critical for surgical procedures requiring precise, real-time image feedback.
