Madison Energy Infrastructure to deploy 50 MW battery storage for CORE Electric Cooperative
Madison Energy Infrastructure is developing a 50 MW, 200 MWh battery storage portfolio in Colorado to bolster grid capacity for CORE Electric Cooperative.
Madison Energy Infrastructure has partnered with CORE Electric Cooperative to install a 50 megawatt (MW) and 200 megawatt-hour (MWh) battery energy storage system in Colorado. The project is designed to provide grid stability and support the cooperative's electricity distribution efforts.
The deployment addresses increasing demand within the CORE service territory. By utilizing utility-scale battery storage, the cooperative aims to manage load fluctuations and incorporate more intermittent energy sources into its regional distribution network.
Energy storage projects have become a central focus for regional utilities as they seek to mitigate volatility and ensure capacity. This collaboration represents a shift toward local infrastructure solutions for cooperatives facing rising energy consumption and evolving regulatory requirements in the western United States.
