MAK Technologies Advances in US Marine Corps Vehicle Trainer Program

MAK Technologies, a company of ST Engineering North America, has successfully completed Phase 1 of the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) Crew Gunnery Trainer (CGT) program for the United States Marine Corps. This phase included the successful completion of the Final User Evaluation (FUE) and the delivery of the trainer prototype.

Following this achievement, MAK has been awarded Phase 2 of the program, which will further expand and mature the training capability to support Marine Corps readiness. The prototype, developed and delivered within six months, provides a safe and repeatable environment for Marines to develop crew coordination and gunnery skills prior to live-fire training.

The system features dedicated Driver, Gunner, Commander, and Instructor/Operator Stations, enabling comprehensive crew training, performance assessment, and after-action review capabilities. Direct feedback from Marines during multiple user evaluations was incorporated to refine the system and contribute to the successful completion of Phase 1.

The Phase 2 award signifies the success of the initial prototype effort and continues the partnership between MAK and the Marine Corps to enhance and evolve the ACV CGT based on operational requirements and user feedback. CEO Bill Cole highlighted the significance of the milestones, while Captain Fanning of the USMC noted the system's effectiveness in rapidly improving crew coordination and decision-making skills for ACV operation.
