MakeMyTrip reports quarterly profit amid bus segment growth
MakeMyTrip posted a $1.8 million net profit for the second quarter as strong bus ticketing demand helped offset currency headwinds and a slowdown in international travel.

Nasdaq-listed travel platform MakeMyTrip recorded a consolidated net profit of $1.8 million for the quarter ended September 2026, marking a turnaround from a $5.7 million loss in the same period last year. Revenue rose 2.5% to $235.2 million, though growth was constrained by a 10% depreciation of the Indian rupee against the US dollar and softer demand for international long-haul travel.
The company’s bus ticketing segment emerged as a primary growth driver, with revenue increasing 17% to $39 million. Conversely, the hotels and packages segment saw revenue dip 1% to $107.1 million, and air ticketing revenue fell 7% to $56.7 million, even as gross bookings for flights rose 11%.
Technological investment remains a core focus, with the AI assistant 'Myra' facilitating over 3,000 completed bookings per day. Data suggests that users engaging with the AI tool are significantly more likely to finalize bookings compared to non-users, particularly in Tier II and Tier III cities.
Looking ahead, MakeMyTrip is moving toward a potential public offering for its India unit. The company has filed a confidential draft red herring prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) as it explores an initial public offering for MakeMyTrip India Limited.
