Malteser receives national awards for humanitarian work

Berlin/Cologne – German Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière presented Malteser with multiple awards at the national "Helfende Hand" competition in Berlin in October. The awards recognize the efforts of civil society organizations.

Malteser in Hamburg secured second place in the "Youth and Successor Work" category for their poster campaign "Kämpfe mit uns" (Fight with us).

Malteser in Berlin, in collaboration with other organizations, won first place in the "Innovative Concepts" category for their "PROTECT – Learning and Helping as a Volunteer" initiative. This project aims to improve the welcoming culture for individuals with a migration background within aid organizations and to encourage their volunteer engagement.

Malteser in Münster achieved third place in the same "Innovative Concepts" category with a portrait exhibition titled "Voluntary. For You. For Münster." This project was developed in partnership with other aid organizations and was commended for its artistic concept and execution.

The Interior Minister also recognized companies for their support of civil protection. JOLA-Rent GmbH earned a third-place ranking in the "Exemplary Employer Behavior" category for assisting Malteser with materials, equipment, and personnel during both regular operations and emergency situations.
