Man Group partners with Anthropic to integrate AI into investment operations

Investment manager Man Group is adopting Anthropic’s Claude models to accelerate data synthesis and automate investment workflows.

1 November 2026

Alternative investment manager Man Group has entered a partnership with AI research firm Anthropic to deploy the Claude model across its global operations. The initiative aims to enhance the firm’s systematic investing capabilities by automating data-heavy tasks and generating new investment insights.

Man Group, which manages $213.9 billion in assets, plans to utilize Anthropic’s technology to bridge the gap between raw financial datasets and portfolio management decisions. By using tools like Claude Code, the firm intends to streamline its coding and analysis processes, allowing portfolio managers to evaluate a broader range of securities and risk models more efficiently.

Chief Technology Officer Gary Collier stated that the introduction of large language models (LLMs) has accelerated the firm's ability to develop proprietary alpha-generation tools. The partnership focuses on integrating these tools into the investment floor while also reducing manual workloads in departments such as distribution and human resources.

For Anthropic, the collaboration marks a significant deployment in the highly regulated financial services sector. Chris Ciauri, Managing Director International at Anthropic, noted that the specific, high-stakes application of AI in Man Group’s workflows demonstrates the utility of agentic AI in environments where trust and reliability are mandatory.
