The internship, typically spanning 10-12 weeks, provides students with exposure to high-performing technology teams within the firm. The program seeks candidates with a strong interest in technology, creative problem-solving abilities, and a readiness to engage with substantial projects.
One intern described developing a web scraping pipeline for data collection within the Discretionary AI team. The project involved writing production-grade code and navigating a complex existing codebase, expanding skills beyond Python. This intern noted the support from mentors and fellow interns as crucial to their learning.
Another participant, Dido, worked on developing a proxy for the Order Management and Analytics team, enabling automated testing workflows previously not feasible. This role involved learning new tools such as Docker and Jenkins, alongside enhancing knowledge in Spring Boot.
Bruce, an intern with the Discretionary Public Credit Technology team, focused on automating trading workflows, including the creation of dashboards. This aspect of the project also required stakeholder communication for requirement gathering and solution planning.
