MapleStory Remastered Launches Second Closed Beta Test
MapleStory Remastered launched its second closed beta test on July 2, introducing significant changes to its trading system and game content. The test aims to refine player experience based on earlier feedback.

Game developer IT Home announced on July 2 that its game MapleStory Remastered has commenced its second closed beta test. This test phase focuses on refining the game's trading system and content, notably removing the binding of gold currency to characters and enabling face-to-face transactions and player-run shops.
The trading system has undergone several adjustments. Gold coins are no longer bound to characters. Players can now engage in direct peer-to-peer trading, utilize the auction house with gold currency, and establish personal shops on the free market. Transaction fees have also been reduced from 10% to 5%.
Changes to game content include the restoration of original map layouts, the removal of mini-dungeons, and adjustments to game mechanics like UI colors and skill effects to align with an earlier game version.
The company confirmed that in-game shop functions will not be active during this second beta test. The shop is being optimized based on feedback from the initial test and is expected to be ready for the game's official launch. Planned in-game purchases include various cosmetic items, character customization options, and convenience-focused membership services.
The MapleStory Remastered launch follows an initial "Return to Island" test that began on May 20. This version aims to faithfully recreate the game's original maps, character classes, and quests.
