Margrethe Vestager Honored with Europe Prize in Flensburg

Flensburg – Former European Commission Vice-President Margrethe Vestager received the Europe Prize at the Europa-Universität Flensburg on Tuesday during the university's annual reception.
The prize, endowed with 10,000 euros and sponsored by the university council, honors individuals who advocate for a strong and democratic Europe, according to the university.
University President Christiane Hipp highlighted Vestager's commitment to the European common good and pointed to the German-Danish border region as a living example of European cooperation.
Earlier on Tuesday, Vestager participated in a debate with students about European values. The award ceremony took place at the Flensburg City Theater on Tuesday evening.
