MariBank Secures Digital Bank License in the Philippines

MariBank has officially obtained a digital banking license from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), solidifying its position within the Philippine financial landscape.

Initially approved in October 2023, the recent operational license allows MariBank to offer a full suite of digital banking services across the archipelago. This makes it the seventh digital bank to be fully licensed and operational in the Philippines, facing competition from existing digital players and traditional financial institutions.

The BSP has been actively promoting the establishment of digital banks as part of a broader initiative to enhance financial inclusion. The aim is to broaden access to and affordability of financial services, particularly for unbanked and underbanked populations.
