Marieke Gouda Wins Nine Awards at American Cheese Society Competition
Wisconsin-based Marieke Gouda received nine medals at the American Cheese Society (ACS) Competition, including the top award for an American Original product.

Thorp, Wis. โ Marieke Gouda has earned nine accolades at the 2026 American Cheese Society (ACS) Competition in Louisville, Ky. The competition featured approximately 1,600 entries across more than 100 categories.
The cheesemaker secured gold medals for its Premium Gouda (12-18 months), Hatch Pepper Spread, and Marieke Golden. Marieke Gouda also received silver medals for Belegen, Honey Clover Spread, and Marieke Golden, along with bronze medals for Marieke Gouda Young (2-4 months) and Marieke Golden. Notably, Marieke Golden was recognized with the Highest Scoring โ American Original Award and placed in the Top 11 Best of Show.
These awards coincide with Marieke Gouda's 20th year of cheesemaking, a milestone the company marks by continuing its tradition of blending Dutch cheesemaking heritage with Wisconsin's dairy resources.
The ACS Competition is considered one of North America's premier cheese contests, with judging based on flavor, aroma, texture, appearance, and overall craftsmanship, signifying a high standard of excellence in the dairy industry.
