Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg has acquired Strancally Castle and its approximately 440-acre estate in Ireland. The purchase, confirmed by The Irish Times, reportedly took place "several weeks ago."
The exact sale price of the 16,000-square-foot castle remains undisclosed, but estimates suggest a figure between €20 million and €30 million. The property had been previously restored by its former owners.
"Mark and his family are excited to continue caring for this historic home and look forward to spending time in Ireland, where Meta maintains its international headquarters," a spokesperson told The Irish Times.
The acquisition marks a significant personal investment for Zuckerberg in Ireland, a country that also serves as the location for Meta's international headquarters.
