Markel International has introduced its new Chemical, Oil & Gas related Energy Property (CORE) offering, a specialized insurance product designed for small to midsize businesses domiciled in the United States and operating within the chemical, oil, and gas industries.
The CORE offering aims to provide coverage for a range of property-related risks specific to the energy sector. The insurance is structured to assist companies in managing and mitigating significant asset risks associated with the complex and potentially hazardous operations inherent in these fields.
Markel International stated that the launch addresses a growing need for protection of critical infrastructure and assets, considering the sector's volatility and regulatory landscape. The CORE product is intended to offer comprehensive protection against damages resulting from events such as fires, explosions, and other unforeseen incidents.
Additionally, Candice Walker has been appointed as Head of First-Party Energy. Her role will focus on advancing and developing the company's energy property insurance capabilities.
