Martin Sion Takes Helm at Alstom as CEO

Alstom, a global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, announced that Martin Sion assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer effective April 1, 2026. He succeeds Henri Poupart-Lafarge, who decided not to seek another term after ten years leading the company.

During Poupart-Lafarge's tenure, Alstom solidified its position as a major player in the global rail industry. The company's revenues grew significantly, from approximately €6 billion to €18.5 billion, notably enhanced by the integration of Bombardier Transportation. This strategic move expanded Alstom's scale and competitive standing.

"We are delighted to welcome Martin Sion as our new CEO," stated Philippe Petitcolin, Chairman of Alstom’s Board of Directors. Petitcolin highlighted Sion's extensive industrial leadership experience, most recently as CEO of ArianeGroup, expressing confidence in his ability to guide Alstom's future ambitions.

Martin Sion expressed his honor in joining Alstom and his eagerness to collaborate with the company's teams. He acknowledged Henri Poupart-Lafarge's leadership and the solid foundation laid, aiming to advance the decarbonization of transport and deliver innovative mobility solutions worldwide.
