The 4v4 team-based fighting game Marvel Rivals, a collaboration between PlayStation Studios, Arc System Works, and Marvel Games, began its global open beta on July 24. The game is set for an official release on August 6.

The 4v4 team-based fighting game Marvel Rivals, developed by PlayStation Studios, Arc System Works, and Marvel Games, initiated its global open beta test on July 24 at 15:00. The test will continue until July 27 at 14:59.
The game is scheduled for an official release on August 6 for PlayStation 5 and PC platforms, including Steam and the Epic Games Store. This beta phase is fully open, requiring no prior registration. PlayStation 5 players do not need a PlayStation Plus subscription to participate in online matches, though a PlayStation account is necessary for playing on either PS5 or PC.
Fifteen playable characters are available during the open beta, including the debut of Blade. These characters are divided into five theme groups: Battle Avengers, Unbreakable X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, Valiant Force, and Dark Knights. The beta also features six battle maps, such as New York (Day/Night), Savage Lands, X-Mansion, Knowhere, and Wakanda.
Game modes include ranked and casual matches, an open lobby for up to 64 players in a free-for-all, local versus, and training modes. Additionally, a "Chapter Mode" allows players to experience the first three chapters of the Guardians of the Galaxy story arc.
Marvel Rivals employs Arc System Works' signature anime-inspired visual style and a 4v4 tag-team system where all four characters share a single health bar and can be swapped out during gameplay. The full release will feature 20 Marvel characters and includes PS5-specific optimizations like faster loading times and 3D audio.
