Marvel Studios President Eyes Hundreds of X-Men Films
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced plans for an "X-Men" reboot that could lead to hundreds of movies. A young cast is intended to set the stage for decades of storytelling.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed at the D23 event that the studio is planning a reboot of the X-Men film series, with the possibility of making up to one hundred films. The studio aims to establish a long-term foundation for the characters by casting a young ensemble.
Feige stated that the new X-Men film is slated for release on May 5, 2028. He noted that a group of young actors, including Sadie Sink as Jean Grey and Kit Connor as Cyclops, have been chosen to build a foundation for decades to come. This strategic casting choice is intended to allow for the telling of numerous stories from the comics' extensive history.
Prior to the new X-Men film's debut, Marvel plans to address Fox-era X-Men characters in upcoming Avengers films, with actors like Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen returning. In addition to the new X-Men movie, Marvel has scheduled other releases, such as a Ghost Rider film for July 28, 2028, and Black Panther 3 for December 15, 2028.
Feige emphasized that Marvel possesses a vast amount of unadapted comic book material, providing a basis for countless future films. X-Men characters, such as Jean Grey, have already begun appearing in Marvel's cinematic universe, including in a recent Spider-Man film.
Marvel's intention is to integrate the X-Men into its broader cinematic universe, facilitating interactions between new and established characters and enabling story development over many years.
