Marvell to Invest $250 Million in India, Double Workforce

Marvell Technology, a US-based semiconductor manufacturer, has announced a $250 million investment in India over the next three years. The funds will be directed towards expanding the company's capabilities in data infrastructure and the development of artificial intelligence (AI) chips.

The Nasdaq-listed firm also intends to double its workforce in India during this period. To accommodate this growth, Marvell will expand its presence in Hyderabad and establish a new facility at its existing office in Bengaluru. These initiatives are expected to bolster Marvell's global innovation network and its capacity for designing advanced semiconductor solutions.

Marvell has had a presence in India for two decades, and its Indian operations have grown to become its second-largest research and development organization globally. Navin Bishnoi, head of Marvell India, highlighted India's role as a strategic hub for engineering excellence powering hyperscalers and cloud providers.

This investment is part of a broader trend as India increasingly positions itself as a key player in the global semiconductor supply chain, supported by government policies and a projected significant growth in the domestic market. Marvell has also initiated a scholarship program for engineering students in India.
