17 October 2026

Dortmund/Vienna – The Materna Group has acquired 100 percent of RADAR Cyber Security, an Austrian cybersecurity specialist, effective September 23, 2022. This strategic move aims to strengthen Materna's standing in the cybersecurity sector within the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).

The acquisition allows Materna to expand its portfolio of cybersecurity solutions and enhance its delivery capabilities. RADAR Cyber Security specializes in establishing Security Operations Centers (SOCs) for businesses and Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs). The company has also been operating its own "Made in Europe" SOC as a Service for over a decade, providing end-to-end solutions for SOC setup and services.

Dr. Christian Polster, one of RADAR's founders, and Eugenio Carlon, who previously headed Materna's cybersecurity division, will co-manage the company. Materna CEO Martin Wibbe stated that the acquisition strengthens delivery capabilities in a growth market and positions Materna as a comprehensive provider of cybersecurity services and consulting. The company also aims to increase the revenue share from managed security services.

Materna offers a wide range of cybersecurity measures, from consulting and planning to the operation of security solutions. The company serves clients in various sectors, including manufacturing, energy, finance, and public administration. The increasing complexity of cyber threats and evolving regulatory requirements are driving a significant demand for advanced cybersecurity solutions and services like those offered by Materna and RADAR.
