Materna and ITZBund develop digitalization platform for OZG
Materna-Gruppe and ITZBund are jointly developing a digitalization platform for Germany's Online Access Act (OZG). The platform aims to accelerate the implementation of federal administrative services.

Dortmund – Materna-Gruppe, in collaboration with ITZBund (Germany's central IT service provider for the federal government), is developing a digitalization platform to support the implementation of the Online Access Act (OZG). The law mandates the digitalization of federal administrative services by the end of 2022.
ITZBund recently announced the provision of an OZG platform to speed up the implementation of these digital services. Materna will conceptualize and develop this technical platform together with ITZBund, leveraging existing consolidated service solutions. The initiative aims to ensure the digitalization of the federal administration while adhering to standards for security and interoperability.
The OZG platform integrates consolidated federal basic services into an interoperable overall solution. These include a content management system (Government Site Builder), a unified user account (Nutzerkonto Bund), an online payment component (ePayBL), a form management system (Lucom Interaction Platform), chatbot services, and the electronic case file system (E-Akte Bund), with future connections to registers and specialized procedures.
Key benefits of the platform include investment protection and the creation of end-to-end digital processes. Applicants can utilize single sign-on to automatically pre-fill application forms with personal data, and payment processes can be handled digitally. This enables federal authorities to offer their OZG services more rapidly and efficiently. Additionally, authorities can use the platform to design their own internet presences and develop them into specialized portals.
Materna is an experienced partner in digitalization projects for the public sector, having successfully implemented numerous OZG services. This collaboration with ITZBund highlights the company's role in advancing digital administrative services in Germany.
