Dortmund – German IT service provider Materna-Gruppe has reorganized its business structure to better align with market demands. As of January 1, 2020, the company merged and renamed several of its business lines (Business Lines) to sharpen its market focus.
The former IT Factory and Digital Enterprise business lines have been combined into a new unit named Digital Transformation. This unit, led by Executive Vice President Uwe Scariot, aims to support businesses and public sector organizations in their digital transformation journeys. Services include cloud and infrastructure management, agile software development, and digital marketing, leveraging technologies from partners such as Amazon Web Services, BMC Software, Micro Focus, Salesforce, and ServiceNow.
Business operations focused on public sector clients are now consolidated under the Business Line Public Sector, formerly known as Business Line Government. Led by Executive Vice President Michael Hagedorn, this unit concentrates on supporting the digitalization of government administration. Services encompass portal solutions, implementation of e-government legislation (such as eGovG and OZG), and the deployment of electronic case management systems and digital form services.
The company is also expanding its cybersecurity offerings, including consulting and awareness training. Additionally, the Materna Group includes its internationally oriented subsidiaries: the cbs Group, specializing in SAP consulting for industrial clients, and Materna IPS, which develops solutions for automated passenger handling for airports and airlines.
Materna-Gruppe employs over 2,300 people worldwide and reported revenues of €323.8 million in 2019. The company offers a full range of IT services, from consulting to implementation and operation.
