IT service provider Materna-Gruppe reported revenue of 712 million euros for fiscal year 2024, marking a 6.4 percent increase compared to the previous year. The company achieved 13 percent organic growth. Materna has strategically refocused by selling Materna IPS GmbH and its airport business to concentrate on future growth sectors, with a particular emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI).

"Our success demonstrates our ability to achieve sustainable growth even in challenging market conditions," stated CEO Michael Hagedorn. "We are consistently focusing on innovation, especially in the field of AI, to further expand our leading market position." The company aims to increase its revenue to one billion euros by 2027.

Materna's digital transformation strategy is built on four dimensions: platform-based transformation, human x digital, artificial intelligence, and business resilience. The utilization of AI is a key component, with the company engaging in strategic partnerships, including with NVIDIA, to develop AI solutions for businesses and public administration.

The digitalization of the public sector remains strong, with AI contributing to an 8.1 percent growth in this segment, partly through applications like register modernization. An example of AI implementation is the creation of a digital twin of the Bavarian Forest, aiding in sustainable forest management. Materna is also expanding its mobile solutions and strengthening its SAP consulting business.
