Matic Robot Vacuum Adds Gesture and Voice Control
Robot vacuum company Matic has launched an update introducing gesture and voice control. The new Matic Cues feature allows users to point at messes for spot cleaning or issue commands via voice.
Matic, a previously favored robot vacuum, has received a significant upgrade with the launch of Matic Cues. The update, released on August 13, introduces both voice and gesture control to the device. Users can now point directly at a mess to have the robot perform spot cleaning, or issue verbal commands for specific tasks.
The new Matic Cues functionality is available through the settings menu in the Matic app. The launch precedes a planned price increase on September 9, which will raise the robot vacuum's price from $1,245 to $1,495.
Initial testing suggests the gesture control is promising, offering a more intuitive way to direct the robot to address spills immediately. Voice control provides an alternative method for commands related to cleaning areas or scheduling.
Matic Cues aims to enhance the user experience, making the robot vacuum's operation more seamless. The feature is designed to respond quickly and accurately to user commands, including unconventional ones.
