Matkahuolto has successfully retained its gold rating in the EcoVadis international sustainability assessment, while also achieving its best-ever score. The company saw notable improvements, particularly in areas related to the environment and climate, which are critical for logistics operations.
EcoVadis evaluates companies on four key sustainability dimensions: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Matkahuolto's enhanced score reflects strengthened environmental responsibility, including improved policies, practical measures, and external verification. Monitoring and stakeholder recognition of its environmental efforts also saw positive development.
Key environmental initiatives by Matkahuolto include a commitment to halve emissions by 2030 and transition to fossil-free fuels. The company also renewed its Ekokompassi environmental management system certification in June 2026.
The gold rating places Matkahuolto among the top five percent of approximately 150,000 companies assessed globally by EcoVadis. The company attributes this achievement to sustained, systematic development efforts focused on mitigating the environmental impact of its logistics activities.
