Matkahuolto and RePack Launch Reusable Shipping Packages
Matkahuolto and RePack are launching a collaboration to offer reusable packaging solutions for consumers' personal parcel shipments. The aim is to reduce the amount of packaging waste.

Matkahuolto has initiated a collaboration with RePack to offer reusable packaging solutions for parcel shipments between consumers. The partnership aims to reduce the volume of packaging waste generated by the increasing number of parcel deliveries.
The growing popularity of peer-to-peer commerce has significantly increased the volume of parcels being sent and received. While this practice extends the lifespan of products and reduces single-use consumption, it simultaneously increases the use of packaging materials.
The RePack package and its associated transport can be purchased through Matkahuolto's website. The company encourages reuse by offering a discounted shipping rate for subsequent shipments or by allowing recipients to return the package to Matkahuolto, in exchange for a discount code for future services. The packages are designed to withstand at least 20 uses.
Matkahuolto states that the reusable packaging specifically addresses the needs of consumers engaged in peer-to-peer sales, offering a more environmentally friendly and affordable shipping option. RePack packages are available at 20 Matkahuolto service points and can be sent and collected through Matkahuolto's network of over 1,600 parcel lockers and service points.
