Matkahuolto Invests 25 Million Euros in Growth and Customer Experience
Logistics company Matkahuolto is launching a new strategy involving a €25 million investment in service development and customer experience. The company aims to grow its revenue from €90 million to €150 million over a five-year period.
Logistics company Matkahuolto has announced a new strategy and significant investments aimed at increasing the company's revenue from €90 million to €150 million by 2027. As part of this strategy, the company is investing €25 million in service development and enhancing customer experience to meet evolving consumer needs.
The reforms are driven by the growth of e-commerce and the circular economy, which have made sending and receiving packages a daily activity. Matkahuolto is responding by increasing the number of parcel lockers and developing its digital services. The company is also preparing a multi-million euro investment in a new international logistics terminal in Turku.
Matkahuolto's new CEO Mika Husso emphasizes the company's focus on customer needs and wishes. "We are investing in signals from Finnish consumers during the upcoming strategy period," Husso states. The company is already a strong player in domestic passenger and parcel transport and aims to increase its market share in parcel services for B2B transport.
A key part of the strategy is also to expand international parcel services. Matkahuolto has significantly increased its international parcel volumes in just three years and aims for a global footprint in the parcel market in the future, in collaboration with international partners.
The company has also invested in digital ticketing solutions and integrated travel chains, as well as developed public transport services for smaller towns and sparsely populated areas through its Kutsukyyti service. The goal is to strengthen its position as the consumer's primary choice for sending and receiving parcels.
