Matkahuolto prepares for Christmas package delivery peak
Matkahuolto's parcel traffic is at its peak leading up to Christmas. The company is asking customers to collect their parcels promptly to free up space.
Parcel service Matkahuolto is preparing for the traditional Christmas season parcel rush, which is currently underway. The company informed its customers on December 8, 2021, that parcel traffic is at its peak and requested customers to collect their arrived shipments as quickly as possible. This helps free up space in parcel lockers and service points. If the selected pick-up point is congested, Matkahuolto will move the parcel to the nearest available point and notify the customer.
Due to the congestion, the number of inquiries to the customer service center has increased. Matkahuolto has increased its staff for the year-end season but notes that response times may still be longer than usual. The company reminds customers that parcel tracking is available via Matkahuolto's website and mobile application.
Matkahuolto has also published the final shipping deadlines for Christmas for various services. For example, the last shipping day for domestic parcels to be delivered by Christmas Eve is December 21, and for express parcels, it is December 22-23, depending on the location. For international parcels, delivery times vary by destination country.
The company has extended the opening hours of its over 2,000 service points, including parcel lockers, K-grocery stores, and R-kiosks, during the Christmas season. On Christmas Eve, Matkahuolto's own service points will be open from 8 AM to 12 PM. Exact opening hours and addresses can be found on Matkahuolto's website.
