Matkahuolto tests mailbox delivery amid surge in home parcel demand

Demand for Matkahuolto's home parcel deliveries has surged by hundreds of percent in the past week, the company announced on Wednesday. In response to the increased demand, Matkahuolto is initiating a new service trial involving direct delivery of parcels to mailboxes and letter slots.

The trial, conducted in collaboration with the e-commerce company the other danish guy, will cover specific postal codes in Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Kauniainen, and Turku. Matkahuolto revamped its parcel services last year and aims for continuous improvement in customer experience.

The company stated that parcel transportation continues to operate normally despite the exceptional circumstances. Reductions in bus services have been supplemented by increased use of trucks for deliveries. According to Taloustutkimus, Matkahuolto is the most recommended parcel service provider by customers.

Matkahuolto aims to further develop its services, providing customers with more precise information on parcel location and enabling them to manage delivery according to their own schedules.
