Matkahuolto warns of package delivery scam messages

Matkahuolto has issued a warning regarding a rise in fraudulent messages targeting customers of logistics services. These messages, often distributed via email and SMS, falsely represent themselves as communications from Matkahuolto or other shipping providers.

The scam messages typically urge recipients to confirm personal details or make payments before a package can be delivered or collected. Matkahuolto emphasizes that it never requests additional online payments for package shipment or release. Any applicable fees, such as cash-on-delivery charges, are always collected at the point of dispatch or pickup.

The company advises customers against clicking on links within suspicious messages or divulging any personal, payment, or online banking information. Official Matkahuolto communications will always identify the sender and include a tracking ID, which can be used to verify shipment details on the company's website.

Matkahuolto is actively monitoring the situation and cooperating with authorities to mitigate the harm caused by these scams. Suspected fraudulent messages should be deleted immediately.
