Matt Mullenweg Reinstated as Automattic CEO

Matt Mullenweg has returned to his role as CEO of Automattic, just two days after the company placed him on a paid leave of absence. Mullenweg informed employees via a Slack message that he has been reinstated, as reported by TechCrunch.

Earlier this week, 404 Media reported that Mullenweg had told staff that the board of directors voted to place him on leave, alleging that CFO Mark Davies "conspired" with the board to make the decision. Mullenweg stated he voted against the measure and that the board had appointed Davies as interim CEO.
