Maven Pet Launches AI Assistant for Dog Health Monitoring
Maven Pet has introduced Companion, an AI pet assistant that monitors individual dogs' real-time health data and provides personalized insights based on their unique biometrics.

Technology News: Maven Pet has launched Companion, an AI-powered pet assistant designed to provide owners with personalized health insights by monitoring individual dogs' real-time health data. This service aims to differentiate itself from general AI tools by analyzing specific biometric information.
A survey indicates that 43% of pet owners utilize AI tools like ChatGPT for advice on their dogs' health, with 59% altering their pet's care based on such guidance. However, many of these tools rely on general internet information and lack specific knowledge of individual animals.
Maven Pet's Companion utilizes a sensor attached to a dog's collar, collecting up to 25 million data points daily on vitals, sleep, and activity. The system compares this data against the dog's own baseline, enabling the detection of deviations potentially days before an owner might notice.
The company reports delivering over 125,000 proactive health insights, frequently related to ear, skin, and allergy issues, as well as cardiac and respiratory changes. Maven Pet claims the system can identify subtle shifts, such as an increase in respiratory rate in a senior dog or higher water intake in a diabetic dog, which general AI cannot detect.
"Being a pet parent is constant uncertainty. We can't ask them, so we guess. Companion ends that," stated Guilherme Coelho, CEO and Co-founder of Maven Pet. "It watches continuously, alerts you the moment something shifts, and answers from your pet's data, not the internet."
Companion is available to subscribers at an annual cost of $167.92, including the hardware. Further details can be found at maven.pet/dog-health-tracker.
