Maverrik Launches Intensive Course to Boost UK Expert Businesses' International Reach
Maverrik has launched a one-day intensive course, "Build Beyond Referrals," aimed at helping UK expert-led businesses reduce dependency on referrals and secure more international clients.

Maverrik has introduced a new one-day intensive program, "Build Beyond Referrals," designed to help expert-led businesses in the UK develop more resilient and scalable client acquisition systems. The initiative aims to reduce reliance on word-of-mouth referrals and bolster the UK's knowledge economy by facilitating international growth.
The launch comes amid ongoing discussions about entrepreneurship and regional economic development in the UK, with figures like Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham championing small businesses. Maverrik highlights the significant economic opportunity presented by UK-based experts serving international clients, bringing foreign revenue back into the country without physical exports.
The program is targeted at executive coaches, consultants, advisers, and specialist service providers who are increasingly working with clients across Europe, North America, and Australia. The course founder, Dean Seddon, emphasizes that while referrals are valuable, they can leave business growth to chance. He advocates for building reliable client acquisition systems to complement existing referral networks.
"Britain has an incredible wealth of expertise," said Seddon. "When they win international clients, they're effectively exporting British expertise and bringing that income back into the UK. The challenge is that many of these businesses still rely heavily on referrals."
The "Build Beyond Referrals" intensive focuses on three key stages: defining the proposition (audience, offer, messaging), pre-selling (building visibility and trust), and pipeline development (creating repeatable processes for lead generation and client conversations). Delivered as a practical working session, participants apply learnings directly to their own businesses. The course will be held in Bristol, London, and Manchester in September 2026, with limited capacity to ensure interactive guidance.
