German company Max Knobloch Nachf. GmbH has introduced its new PAKNO parcel system in a residential building located in Frankfurt. This solution is designed to streamline and enhance the security of mail and parcel reception in multi-occupancy buildings, while providing a contactless user experience.

The system addresses the challenge of parcel deliveries in buildings with numerous apartments, where delivery personnel often face difficulties locating recipients. With the PAKNO system, individual residents do not require personal parcel lockers. Instead, users select the recipient and an available compartment via a touchscreen interface. Once a parcel is placed inside, the system dispatches a single-use PIN code to the intended recipient's email address.

PAKNO is engineered for ease of use and accessibility for everyone. It can be utilized by all parcel delivery services, neighbors, or other individuals. The received code can be shared further, simplifying the process of sending returns as well. Users place returns in a compartment, designate themselves as the recipient, and forward the system-generated email to the shipping company.
