Maxon acquires 3D plant modeling company Laubwerk
Maxon, a provider of software solutions for creative professionals, has acquired Germany-based Laubwerk GmbH. Laubwerk specializes in high-quality 3D plant models.
Maxon, Bad Homburg, Germany – January 6, 2025 – Maxon, known for its software solutions for content creators, has announced the acquisition of Laubwerk GmbH. Laubwerk specializes in creating high-quality 3D plant models and has previously collaborated with Maxon.
Maxon CEO David McGavran stated that Laubwerk's expertise is crucial for accelerating innovation in the company's products. Laubwerk's parametric plant models, widely used in architectural visualization and visual effects, help streamline user workflows.
Laubwerk CEO and Founder Philip Paar highlighted the companies' shared passion for innovation and enhancing the creative process for digital artists. The merger will allow Laubwerk to leverage Maxon's resources and reach.
Maxon One subscribers already have access to a selection of Laubwerk's Redshift-ready trees and plants through the Cinema 4D Asset Browser as part of Maxon's ongoing Capsules project. A broader range of assets will become available to subscribers in the future.
