Maxon Acquires Japanese Distributor Business, Forms Local Subsidiary
Software developer Maxon has acquired the business of its Japanese distributor and established its first official office in Japan, Maxon Computer KK, to deepen market commitment.
Maxon, a developer of 3D modeling and animation software, has acquired the business segment of its Japanese distributor and established its first official office in Japan, to be known as Maxon Computer KK. The move aims to deepen the company's commitment to the Japanese market and strengthen its connection with local users.
For the past decade, Maxon has operated in Japan through its representative office, TMS Corp. TMS Corp founder Manfred Flick has been appointed as the Regional Director of the new subsidiary, and his team will join Maxon. TMS Corp has a significant presence in the broadcast, industrial design, architectural design, and game development sectors, where Maxon's Cinema 4D software is already widely used.
Maxon CEO David McGavran stated that Japan represents a major growth area for the company. He highlighted the value of Flick's team's expertise in expanding the market share for Maxon's Redshift, Red Giant, and Cinema 4D product lines in Japan and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
The acquisition is intended to enhance support services and outreach for Maxon's software users in Japan. Customers will benefit from ongoing free seminars, and the increased availability of Red Giant and Redshift products, alongside the Maxon One bundle, will provide new creative tools for professionals.
