Maxon Adds Archicad Support to Redshift for Architects
Maxon has integrated Graphisoft Archicad into its Redshift visualization software for the AEC sector. The update aims to streamline workflows from design to final rendering for architects.

Maxon, a developer of 3D design software, has released Redshift 2027.0 for the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector, introducing official support for Graphisoft Archicad. This addition complements existing integrations with Vectorworks and Autodesk Revit.
The Redshift for Architects software is designed to create a cohesive workflow from initial design to final output. Architects can now visualize and refine their projects directly within the Archicad environment. For advanced creative control or cinematic presentations, projects can be transferred to Cinema 4D without requiring models to be rebuilt.
Key improvements in the update include faster shader compilation, ray-traced refraction and transparency, and depth-of-field rendering. These features enhance the speed and accuracy of interactive previews. Additionally, new tools for creating custom materials and a dedicated lighting manager provide architects with more direct control over the appearance of their designs.
Nicolas Burtnyk, Maxon's Executive Vice President of Rendering, stated that architectural visualization has evolved beyond simply showing a building's appearance to conveying ideas and serving as a marketing tool. Redshift for Architects facilitates a seamless transition from quick visual feedback to high-quality rendering and animation workflows common in film and advertising.
The Redshift 2027.0 update aims to bridge the gap between what architects see during the creative process and the quality of the final output. It provides rapid, reliable feedback as projects evolve, along with the necessary rendering quality for final presentations.
