Maxon Integrates Tencent Cloud AI Engine into Cinema 4D
Maxon and Tencent Cloud are partnering to integrate Tencent's HY 3D AI engine into Cinema 4D. The new feature allows artists to generate 3D models from text prompts or image references, accelerating early-stage design.
Maxon, a provider of professional software solutions for creators, has announced a strategic partnership with Tencent Cloud to integrate Tencent's HY 3D Global AI engine into its Cinema 4D software. This collaboration introduces an AI-assisted workflow enabling artists to generate base 3D models and UV maps from text prompts or image references.
The integration, unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, allows generated assets to be further refined, sculpted, animated, and rendered within Cinema 4D and Maxon's broader ecosystem, including ZBrush and Redshift. Maxon CEO David McGavran stated that the AI serves as a tool to accelerate ideation and prototyping, emphasizing that creative control remains firmly with the artist.
This new HY 3D feature is entirely optional, and users can continue traditional modeling workflows. Maxon highlighted its commitment to responsible AI integration, positioning the technology as an accelerator for specific steps in an artist-led process, not a replacement for 3D artists. "We are applying technology that accelerates certain steps in a broader creative process that remains artist-led," said Philip Losch, Chief Technology and AI Officer.
The HY 3D integration is scheduled for introduction in Cinema 4D later in 2026. Further technical details and rollout timing will be shared closer to the release. This partnership expands Cinema 4D's capabilities across industries such as film, broadcast, and game development, reinforcing Maxon's role in the creative technology landscape.
