McDonald's Launches Media Network for Advertisers
Fast-food giant McDonald's is establishing the McDonald's Media Network, which will display ads across its app, kiosks, and restaurants. The goal is to build a billion-dollar business.

McDonald's, the global fast-food chain, has announced its entry into the media business with the launch of McDonald's Media Network. This new venture will offer advertising space across the company's digital platforms and physical restaurant locations.
The network aims to leverage McDonald's extensive customer base and global footprint. The company highlighted "over 70 million daily customers globally" and "unmatched reach from our app to kiosks, menu boards, and restaurants" as key advantages. A pilot program for the McDonald's Media Network began in August across 450 company-owned U.S. restaurants.
McDonald's aims to build the media network into "a billion-dollar business across the McDonald's system over time," according to Global CMO Morgan Flatley. This strategy represents a significant expansion beyond traditional restaurant operations, reframing how the company utilizes its data and customer engagement.
The move positions McDonald's as a media entity, seeking to diversify revenue streams and deepen customer relationships by monetizing its existing infrastructure. This initiative follows similar strategies by other major consumer brands that have successfully established media platforms.
