McIntosh has launched its new MX124 A/V processor, aimed at builders of reference-grade home cinemas. The processor integrates a range of advanced audio and video features intended to deliver a superior viewing experience.

The MX124 A/V processor features 13 audio channels and four independent subwoofer outputs, supporting configurations such as 7.4.6 or 9.4.4. It is equipped with nine 32-bit DACs and supports immersive audio formats including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, and Sony 360 Reality Audio, aiming for detailed dynamic range and sound precision. For room calibration, it offers Dirac Live Room Correction, Dirac Live Bass Control, and Audyssey MultEQ XT32 authorization.

On the video side, the MX124 A/V processor includes seven HDMI inputs and three HDMI outputs, one of which supports eARC. All HDMI inputs and two main HDMI outputs support 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video signals, with compatibility for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HLG, and IMAX Enhanced formats.

Additionally, the processor integrates multiple music streaming functionalities, supporting up to 32-bit/192kHz resolution. It offers extensive connectivity options, including digital and analog audio inputs, component and composite video inputs, and Bluetooth support. Control can be managed via COM or network connections.
