MediaTek Demos 5G-Advanced FWA Platform at Network X 2026
MediaTek unveiled its next-generation 5G-Advanced Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) platform at Network X 2026. The new platform integrates advanced features for enhanced wireless broadband performance.
MediaTek and its subsidiary Airoha Technology are showcasing next-generation fixed and wireless networking solutions at Network X 2026. The demonstration highlights MediaTek's T930 modem, designed for 5G-Advanced Fixed Wireless Access (FWA).
The T930 modem features an integrated 8Rx/3Tx antenna design, Edge AI capabilities, and Wi-Fi 8 support. According to MediaTek, this configuration delivers over 70% higher uplink throughput and more than 40% higher downlink HSIN throughput compared to previous generations. These improvements are critical for delivering high-speed and reliable FWA services.
The FWA platform aims to address the growing demand for high-speed internet in homes and businesses, particularly in areas where deploying traditional fiber infrastructure is challenging or costly. 5G-Advanced technology enables higher speeds and lower latency over wireless connections.
MediaTek states that the T930 modem provides a scalable solution for network operators seeking to expand their 5G networks into FWA services. The company anticipates the platform will support the increasing adoption of demanding applications requiring high bandwidth and low latency.
