MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Powers Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Series

MediaTek has announced that its flagship Dimensity 9500 platform is now powering Samsung's new Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ tablets. The collaboration between the two companies continues to focus on bringing high-performance technology to Samsung's premium tablet lineup.

The Dimensity 9500 is built on TSMC's 3nm process and features an "All Big Core" CPU architecture. MediaTek states the platform offers significant advancements in AI processing and graphics, enabling demanding applications like Adobe Photoshop and efficient multitasking in thin, fanless designs.

Integrated AI capabilities are provided by the MediaTek NPU 990 and Generative AI Engine 2.0. These are designed to enable on-device and cloud-based AI features, assisting users with tasks such as content creation and smart assistance.

For gaming and entertainment, the platform includes a 12-core GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing and support for Unreal Engine 5.5+. Intelligent power management is also a feature to balance performance with battery life. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 series is set to be available starting October 7.
